8 11 2012 Supplemental Throwing Down the Gauntlet

Good day all. My Spirits and Energy is good.

Did I hear a challenge in the wind? Sorta, kinda......... Well, OK yes! What kind of challenge? Maybe challenge is not the right word or maybe it is exactly what I mean.

Now that I have everyone scratching their heads wondering "I think Dave have finally flown over the "Cuckoos Nest" oh my!!! Did he have an overdose of protein, fat or or or with him who knows????

Am I crazy? Crazy like a fox!!! Ha, you did not see that coming! So, that means exactly what Dave? It means...... it means...... that...... I ........

Actually I thought that I would ask for some help.

H E L P !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK, what all this means (FINALLY) goes back to what I was writing about recently. I am asking anyone and everyone to please contribute to any ideas that may help me formulate something new. I already have gotten some tips from yall but, I want more if you are so inclined.

So, that being said if you would kindly make a comment with something you would like to see here or wherever this new path will take me. If you do not like to comment where "everyone can see" then do as many others do: Email me at my blogs email address: 2010chronicles@gmail.com

I will take into consideration all comments here and via email. I will then reveal what is up my sleeve. It will be a lot of work and it will take time. So, consider this the first step to where this new venture go.

Hey I am not totally sure where I am going and that is half the fun and half the burden and half the.... the... OK I ran out of halves oops. So there we are... I guess. OK now lets get cracking or whatever you want call it.

Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. Battles are won, yet the War still Rages On. Battle On!!!

11 12 2012 Enjoying Life to the Fullest

Greetings Friends, my Spirits and Energy are good.

Wow what a glorious day it is, glorious indeed! I had a very nice time this morning at Mass. I then came home and enjoyed a breakfast that consisted of thick cut Bacon and Eggs. I just love to fry the Eggs in Bacon Grease. No seasoning required for me. The saltiness of the Bacon and its rich smoked flavor is enough in my book.

Now I sit on my back patio smoking a nice nasty stogie with a fresh cup of plain black coffee with both fountains splashing in the background while I listen to one of my favorite cds from Wine and Alchemy  There music is a rich mixture of Greek  middle eastern, gypsy and some other deals. For me it is really relaxing. Some of it is just instrumentals while others have some singing. I have written about this in the past.

It is a beautiful day here in The Woodlands, Texas. It is cool and windy. It rained a little overnight and later we are supposed to get a little more ran followed by a light cold front.

I am currently marinating some Pork Loin chops. I will grill them on the "Q" later for lunch or dinner along with some fresh made Polish Sausage. No I did not make the sausage. Although my ZC brother Steve did provide me with a variety of casings. That venture will come, just not at the moment.

I seem be getting a second wind. I have and continue to be involved in endeavors  that seem to suck the energy out of me and take most of my spare time. Today I have decided to take a little "ME TIME". For some guys that means going to play golf and what not. For me it is just spending time here at home enjoying nature in my backyard, listening to the water fountains, good music, enjoying some good java and a nice nasty cigar or two. HA!!!

Now for the GOOD STUFF, stuff that dreams are made of..................... not!!! Actually I will let you on a little secrete. I may have mentioned this or maybe not. I am too lazy to read back on the blog to see if I have or not. I know that I have let a few that I am in close contact know either through email of over the phone. Actually I will be posting that little bit of news in mid December. I thought I was going to get a nice long break form "Other Things" after December 1st but it will prolong for an extra week. So, After the 8th of December I will be free to post daily or so for a little while.

Yes I will disclose something................. well not so great, but very interesting if nothing else. So for those who are in the "KNOW" please no comments about it publicly Please!

That is about it my Friends and Family. Have a Healthy Day. Keep in the Fight, Do whats Right and Always Battle On!!

REJOICE!!!

Cheers,

Dave

I Lost That 20 Pounds in 11 Weeks

Hi friends,  Just a quick note. I have lost 20 pounds; actually Im right around the 21-22 pound loss range.

I lost it in 11 weeks way back by the the first ten days of May. I ended up taking a break from blogging because May got busy. Then, I have been off my diet for a few weeks because after May got busy it got stressful when my father went into the hospital. He was in for two weeks before having open heart surgery this last Wednesday. Hes suppose to be getting off sedation today or tomorrow, but so far it looks like things are going well.

I can maybe talk more about him later, but I did want to mention that I am starting my diet again this coming Monday and that I would like to lose another 20 pounds in 10 weeks. Also, I know I need to get in some pictures so, maybe I will do that in the next few days.

Hope you are all doing well and staying healthy.

Sincerely,

Sunshine Mama

5 25 2012 The 5 Bite Diet Day 11

Top of the Morning all. Well, ... where it is morning that is, lol! My Spirits are soaring. My Energy levels are nice.

I am excited about my up and coming Spiritual Retreat next week. YES!!! I for one am a believer and I look forward for the fellowship that I receive from my brothers. Since this is not a place focused on religion I will only talk about it in passing, but it is a part of who I am. A BIG part.

OK yall I am down the stretch of week 2. Not a stellar performance I do agree, yet I have a consistency that I want. I just need to get the numbers better. Dr. Lewis at the "private forum" told me that maybe my "bites" were too big. I know I mentioned this in passing. So I will finish up this week the way I have been doing things and consider reducing my "bite size" along with substituting my first meal with the Bulletproof Coffee. I do know that I will actually try the Bulletproof Coffee tomorrow if I can just remember to pick up some Kerrygold Butter on the way home. It will be a test run.

Hey if I like it I just might do a jump start and continue. I just dont know. Lets see how it fares and I will let yall know.

Day 11  = (1.0) = 12.6 lbs loss current weight 177.4 lbs (OK part 2)

I really feel that I may be turning a corner at this time. Why? I really dont know it is just a feeling. A feeling? Well maybe it is a HOPE? I dont know. It is just there. OK not a real good description I know, but what can you do? HA!

QUESTION: should I be content with a rather steady rate of loss, although it is not as high of a rate as it could be or should I strive to increase the rate of loss? I am a bit torn about this. While on one hand I am OK with losing weight at this pace, an inner voice is saying "NO Dummy, kick it up a notch and GO FOR IT!!!"

In my Heart of Hearts I do believe I can step up to the plate and give it the "Ol College Try" So why not? Why not indeed!!! Did I just talk myself into doing this? Without any feedback. Am I talking to myself? Again? OK, yall dont call the guys dressed in white with those large butterfly nets. Hey I dont really care for those guys and they always have the worse, stale coffee in the world and............... HA!!!

No really, I think I just talked myself into doing this. Into what you may ask. I know I may have confused some out there so let me shed some light: I will be more cautious about the "bite size" of my 5 bites and I will give the Bulletproof Coffee a try as a replacement meal for my first meal of the day.

Ya know, that just might work. No, not the butterfly nets. Jeez yall are something else Ive gotta tell ya. HA! I am talking about the "bit size" adjustment and the Bulletproof coffee". I like the idea that I can just switch from my morning coffee to the Bulletproof version a little later in the day. I drink coffee until late morning most days anyway. Not a pot or two. I slowly drink about a half a pot a day.

Hey, I am not one to shy away from experimenting or I would not be here. It is just my nature and you dont want to mess around with nature. Do you? OK, enough with the three ring act. Drum roll please! Life is too serious yall, Dont mind me if I mix business with pleasure.

Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. Today is in my hands, I will make today a Good Day.

Todays Menu: Black coffee, H20, Seltzer Water, Smoked Chicken with jalapeno sauce and Trail Mix.

11 262012 Supplemental For Whom the Carb Tolls

Howdy yall! My Spirits and Energy levels are good!

Like I have said somewhat in the comment area, I had a really great Thanksgiving. Lots of company, lots of fellowship lots of love. I had family and friends over to join the celebration. I paced myself with all the cooking and yes I do all the cooking. I find it fun and relaxing. Some of the folks spent the night and the next day we had brunch (yes on Friday) at La Madeleine restaurant. I had a nice Bacon, Sausage and Cheddar Cheese omelet and a nice mug of plain black French Roast.

OK, I will address some discussion that went on the comment area. I did received a few emails from some folks a little ticked off too about the comments made by an individual about not just bulletproof coffee, but about (ZC) in general. Now to be fair the comments were not made here by that individual. A few folks I know reported to me about the comments. So what does Dave think about those comments? The comments about bulletproof coffee and just about anything else (ZC) that is not water and Beef.  Well while I do not agree with those comments made by that person, I do feel that  that person has all the rights to make them if he truly believes in them. I just hope he finds the answers he needs to make himself successful concerning his diet. The way we eat has a bigger effect on us than most may realize. It speaks volumes. So to him, my (ZC) brother I say go strict H20 and Beef, the fatter Beef the better. For you I guess that other perfectly fine (ZC) foods dont work. Hey thats OK. I am sorry that they dont. One final word to my (ZC) brother: LONG ASHES my Brother and Battle On!!!

OK, on to other things......... guess what I did this past Saturday? Yes, you guessed it, I went to the Texas Renascence Festival (for the second time this year), not only that. I went with one of my dear old friends that I recently have reconnected with. It was a blast, not only the fair, but the company of my friend. Speaking of "Long Ashes" we indulged in a very nice stogie called "Kuba Kuba" nice indeed!!! It is a Tea Leaf infused cigar. Wow what a great smoke and it is (ZC) to boot. HA!!! The joy of this particular friend is that he appreciates the a big aspect of the fair that I enjoy: The Music. Most folks I go with like the shows, but dont get into the period music or the unusual groups that play there. So this was a treat for me.

So alright then. Anyhow things are alright with me at the moment. My little brain continues to churn and burn and think of things near and far. So whats next? I dunno, I do know that I am I will be heading to the outdoor patio to enjoy a nice rich cup of Bulletproof Coffee and a nice Stogie. Hey life is good and it is only going to get better.

Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. Choices are always yours to make. Make the ones that will benefit you. No Regrets, No Sorrow. Keep the Faith and Always Battle On!!!

11 2 2012 Tis the Season of Challenges or NOT

Greetings Friends, my Spirits and Energy levels are good.

Once again it looks like time has just slipped by. I can honestly tell you that I have been knee deep in personal endeavors that are privy to a few. Some things just have to stay private or to those who I communicate on a regular basis via email or phone. That being said I see a nice stretch of time coming for most of December and January. I will post pretty regular during that time, then back to the dungeon. HA!!!! At lest for a little while.

I appreciate all the great emails and some calls that I have received  The support is always appreciated and I understand that it is a two way street. Some of you folks have been with me for sometime and it is nice knowing that folks from all over the world bother to come to this little spec in cyber space to share or just read. Thank you very much indeed!!!

Tis the season my Friends and Family. The season of what you may ask. So what is Dave cooking up now with that odd shaped brain of his? OK, who said that??? Wow its been oh so long since I post and this is the ...................

Look-it Friends and Family: we are heading to a time really soon from now, a time that most of us will have the privilege to spend with close Friends and Family. Here we celebrate Thanksgiving this month and Christmas next month. So, what is all the fuss about........... what indeed!!!

A lot of us (oh yes me too) struggle during times like the ones coming up let alone the other numerous celebrations like birthdays, weddings, and such. So lets look at these times as a time to renew our resolve, a time to renew our commitment to a WOE and or a way of LIFE. Hey this message is for all, but my Friends and Family that follow Zero Carb know what I mean. Yes we are the odd-balls, the outcast the, the............ whatever!

So what to do in case of an emergency concerning our way of eating? What else? Eat a nice juicy Rib eye rare to medium rare for me thank you very much or whatever protein that you fancy. Yes, that simple that easy you will see! Wow that sounds a bit familiar or does it?

It can be hard I know, but what in the world are we here for if we are not will to take control of our lives and take responsibility for our actions? I chose to make my life worth living as healthy as I can possible do. I refuse to give in, I refuse to give up. I am not going to put upon myself needless disease that could be avoided through proper diet and yes my Friends and Family EXERCISE.

OH NO: DIET and EXERCISE!!! Well those who have read here and mostly on my Zero Carb Blog know what I mean by that: Diet: ZERO CARB, EXERCISE: something to get the juices flowing: ANYTHING. BTW dont forget that the 5 Bite Diet is a great tool to lose stubborn weight and a nice way to break a plateau.

Hey the food will work to make the insides running well and the exercise will help keep the outside looking and feeling well. OK actually they will both work on the inside and outside if you really think about it.

Time to go back into isolation my Friends and Family........... well at least for a little while. I will always answer comments, emails and return missed calls. Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. Into the Abyss we go, nothing to depend on but Ourselves.......... Live Long, Stay Strong and Always, Always Battle On!!!

11 19 2012 Supplemental Jive Turkey

Greetings Friends!!! My Spirits and Energy are on the rise!!!

Why you may ask? Why indeed!!! OK I took some time off. Just a little for now. I cant tell you how it feels to be care free for just a little bit. Yes, just a little bit. So I do have some home projects to do in and out the house, but thats OK. At least these projects benefit me and my household directly, so it is a "Labor of Love." So there you go!

OK so you know this week is Thanksgiving...........well those who live in the good old U..S.. of A sure do as well as the expats out there around the world. For those of you who dont know what the heck is going on just Google it. HA!!! Hey they can do a better job for the most part than me.

"So anyway what does Thanksgiving mean to Dave?" Oh gee I thought you would never ask and yes that voice sounded just like a caring "Cyber Mom"! I just know it couldnt be those voices again............ well I just hope after all the time I spent with the thera............. OK we are getting too deep and off the subject or are we???

OK then Thanksgiving means: (to me) time to give thanks. OK subject closed. Now lest move on to the meat of the matter and............ what, um, well, I guess that was a little weak. Right? Yes, it was and OK since you are twisting my arm I will "Tell All".........ooh, aww and all that jazz! No really I do want to say that I feel that it is a time that I give thanks to God for all I have or dont have. Some things I am truly happy for not having. For the most part I live a life free of burden. Ah burden indeed! One mans burden may be another mans ........ OK I cant think of an opposite word but you are a most educated audience and I am sure that you "get it". I am oh so grateful all year long for the positive things in my life and there are many. I thank God for providing me a life partner that keeps me strong. My Dear Wife means the world to me and I consider that a true blessing from above. I thank God for the folks that surround me. The list is sort, but of high quality. OK I dont want to get too religious, but it is who I am. Love it, Hate it it does not matter.

As always I will be cooking up a storm of treasured favorites for all that care to come and share. Yes I am the only (ZC)er in the bunch and thats OK. I dont force my beliefs on anyone when it comes to anything and I dont alienate myself from the world because they dont agree with me. That would be foolish. Those who practice that have all the right too, because it is their conviction and right. As for me I will stay strong in what I believe and respect others. I dont live in a commune. I have to deal with the real world and "it is what it is" as they say or do they? HAhaha!!! "That laugh... again.... just when I ....." Good grief!

Well for the most part the menu will be:

  • Jive Turkey (OK it is just an herb infused roasted turkey)
  • Smoked Turkey (yes store bought... too lazy to make my own)
  • Roasted root vegetables with olive oil, and Herbes de Provence (from scratch)
  • Traditional southern cornbread stuffing (from scratch)
  • Traditional green bean casserole (from scratch)
  • Sweet potato casserole with crumb topping (from scratch)
  • Southern peach crumb bars (from scratch)
  • Turkey gravy (from jar)
  • Cranberry sauce (can: whole berry and jellied) I doll it up a little
  • Cocktail size croissant rolls
  • Chili con queso with tortilla chips for an appetizer (we are in Texas)
  • Assorted wines. Beer? Sure bring your own.
Did I miss something? Hey this is a meal to share with all and I do enjoy cooking all of these goodies and not so goodies. My choice. Yes, isnt nice to have choices? I have to agree thank you very much.

OK tomorrow is a crazy day for me. I will be picking up my nephew form school. He has a half day and will be helping me do some much needed yard work  Hey I live in The Woodlands home of endless leaves and pine needles. We will work half day or so Tuesday and half day Wednesday then I need to start cooking that night. Yes busy, but I have the week off and dont report back to work until next Monday.

Did I forget to mention that we are having some beautiful weather here. Sunny and cool and it will last the week. I dont know about the others, but I intend eat on the patio. Yes indeed! OK that is all for now short I know. HA!!!

Have a great Thanksgiving for those who celebrate it. Have a Healthy Day my Friends and Family. Keep the Faith and Always Battle On!!!

got turkey?

2014 The 5 Bite Diet Day 11

These past few days have been a little hectic in my personal life. Nothing to do with the 5 bite diet so I wont go into any detail. I like to keep my personal life private. Anyway the diet is going really good. I did expect a greater weight loss at this point, but I will take what I get. I feel pretty good for the most part. Today I did feel a little tired. My energy did not seem normal. I did a lot of work at home yesterday and I did plan on doing some today, but I chose to rest instead. I know I am not consuming much food and food is energy. I thought my body fat would help make the difference up, but it not completely give me what I needed. No matter, so far so good and I will continue with the 5 bite diet unless I feel that it is harming my health and at this point I am confident that it will get me to where I need to be.
