Five Minute Post

Hi there!

I have literally five minutes here. I finally just now read your comments tonight. This no Internet thing is weird. Im definitely missing it.

Know what Ive recently started to enjoy? Reading our encyclopedias at night. I found some amazing history on the discovery of Antarctica. Ha!

Well...I have been super busy with all kinds of stuff. I did see an 8.8 pound loss total on Saturday and then again the same today. So, maybe were trending toward nine pounds loss. I hate how slow its taking.

Im so glad you tried those carob bars, Sunshine Meg. I gave some to my sister yesterday and she loved them.

I also (with the aid of Daddy Rainmaker) designed a work-out program for my sister that I shall have to share with you all. Its for three days a week and takes about 20 to 25 minutes. Its a weight training program.

Im not sure when I can blog again. There is a lot going on this week.

Later!

Lost 14 Pounds In Five Weeks

Hi ya all! Thanks for the comments. Just wanted to let you know that Im now at a 14 pound weight loss in five weeks and one day. So, this is by far the fastest the weight has come off in a l-o-n-g time. Pretty soon youre going to ask me what Im doing because I am doing something different... Its a little drastic, but Im pretty happy with it so far.

I dont want to get ahead of myself, but at this rate I could be at a 20 pound loss in eight weeks. Yes, Im slightly shocked.

Im feeling better with weighing less. I still have a lot of weight to lose to but at present I dont feel down about things taking awhile.

Talk later!

Sincerely,

Sunshine Mama

Happy Thursday Hes Five Weeks Old Today

Greetings, friends!
Its been five weeks since Mr. Lovely was born, so.... I decided to take a few more pictures today.

After bathing him, I weighed him.
My scale says he 9.8 pounds.
Almost ten pounds!

We keep thinking hes smiling at us.
They usually will smile at around six weeks,
so we know that first smile could happen very soon.

But I have just been really enjoying him.
The way he smells,
The little noises he makes,
The way he stretches
The way his soft head feels against mine.

What a blessing he has been!

And, well, how do you like this photographic set-up?

Our two-year-old son, Stavesacre wanted to try it out too...

As did our four-year-old son Peach Blossom....
Around here, if some one does it, the other person has to do it too.

"Good grief, Darling Rose....you too?"

Now you know what I used as a back drop,
the back side of this blanket.
So, get this...I am the mother of count em
not one....
not two....
not three...
BUT FOUR
sons!!!
Here they are:

Eight year old Dandy Lion is the oldest.
Mr. Lovely doesnt look too sure about the two-year-olds ability to hold him.

"Whoops...there he goes!"

Ahh... Peach Blossom can look so peachy sometimes.
------------------------------------------------------
Well, I know I cant just post pictures of babies and children all the time for my diet blog, but I thought you all would enjoy them.
Thank you all for your comments about my dad,
And for you comments about my sleep.
I am working very hard to make sure I get my sleep.
Its not always easy because sometimes I want to stay awake to read a book or if baby is asleep I want to do something "fun".
"Whatever that may be. ha!"
But I am starting to feel better with just the whole me getting more sleep and also my body is feeling better as time has elapsed that has allowed my body to recuperate.
Also, I have noticed that Mr. Lovely is beginning to sleep for longer spells. With a few people that I have talked to, their babies started sleeping through the night when they were around two months old. Im hoping for that.
But in addition to that, Im thinking about revisiting my diet again and hitting the gym soon. Im still eating whatever I want at this point and remaining the same weight. If I were to estimate how many calories I was eating right now I would estimate it to be between 2,500 to 3,000 calories easily.
*pause*
I though Id give you a second to pause and let that sink in for a bit. ha, ha!
I just cant believe that Im not gaining any weight.
So, obviously the baby is taking it all in the form of breast milk because hes gained 3 and a half pounds in five weeks.
Im so proud of him!
So, if I cut any calories I want to be careful to not do it too hardcore so that I make sure he gets enough calories for his breast milk.
Well, thats it for now.
I really want to be more consistent with blogging
*sigh*.
But until I am, thank you all again for keeping up on me.
Its practically Friday.
I may hit the gym tomorrow night.
I hope you all have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Sunshine Mama

Happy Thursday Five Days And Counting

Happy, Happy Thursday folks!

This could very well be the last happy Thursday before our baby is born as I dont think Im going to have the baby in the next three hours. Nothing is going on.

But, I have reached the point now where I can now count down on one hand...how many days I have left before I am due.

Five!!!!

Can you feel the excitement in the air?

Now every day that my husband goes to work, his co-workers tease him when they still see him arrive in the office. When he says, Ill see you tomorrow...they correct him with, "Maybe youll see us tomorrow."

Every time my husband leaves the house or both our 15-year-old and my husband leave together, they tell me to call them on the cell if anything starts happening.

I say, "you guys, nothing is going to happen in the whole 60 minutes that you are gone," but to no avail, they still think it can.

When I call my husband at work to say "hi", or my mom or any one of my friends, they think that I am calling to tell them that Im in labor.

Now, every time I feel a contraction coming on, I think to myself, "Could this be it?" and then I get annoyed with myself because Im getting tired of thinking that.

I called the nurses line today because someone expressed concern about me losing my mucus plug. The midwife people said theres plenty of mucus up there, not to worry, there will still be a barrier between baby and the outside world...but she did say...

She did say..."It could happen any time now."

Cool.

But now, Im convinced it wont happen until the weekend because all of the five preceding children were born between Friday night and Sunday morning.

This evening our thoughtful next door neighbor, who has been coming over more frequently gifted me with this cute little pumpkin sugar cookie. At first I wasnt going to eat it, but then...
I decided to eat 1/4 of it. Maybe Ill give the rest to my hubby.
Then, remember when I told you we hadnt even bought the babys diapers yet?
Well, my husband prayed for diapers for the baby.
And today, a co-worker gave him this...
Thats 319 diapers in case your wondering...
How does it go...
"They that wait upon the Lord..."
Then, today we cooked up another eight loaves of bread and about 30 muffins.
So, altogether we have cooked up 24 loaves of bread in the last week.
Sixteen wheat loaves and eight white loaves.
And our two-year-old son, Stavesacre loves to have a slice with butter and jelly on it when they are hot out of the oven.
See?
Home made food does take a little extra work...
but Ive found it to be cheaper and more fulfilling.
-----------------------------------------------------
Well, I suppose I could leave you all with that, except to be honest, I should add that I have noticed today that I have been feeling irritable and snappy.
I could blame it on the two coffees that I had today, but Ive noticed that it just hasnt been today that I seem to feel a little more, well...just irritable.
Plus, all I want to do is to lay down and rest, and then when I am sitting down in a comfortable chair...I dont want to get up. So, I make the kids run around and grab things for me...even if it is just a few feet away.

I think Ill avoid the caffeine tomorrow to see if that helps, but I got a feeling that it might have something to do with just me being near to the end.
Although, I dont want to be irritable. And its not that I really feel unhappy or sad, just a little "on edge" I guess. Maybe once I get the house cleaned tomorrow Ill feel a little more relaxed.
So, thats the scoop folks!
But, just like any other day of the week, Im so, so glad its Friday soon. I still home school every day, so Friday means the last day of the week for homeschooling and we all get to sleep in for a little bit longer on Saturday.
I hope you all have a great day. And unless this baby comes too quick for me to blog, I will try to blog before I leave for the hospital.
Have a good one!
Sincerely,
Sunshine Mama
